Garret Hill (b. 1995, USA)

Garret Hill’s sculptural amalgamations of captured imagery and mixed medium materiality reference the traditional and contemporary mechanics of photography within the context of altering how photographic information can be perceived. His diverse use of media stems from the techniques used in industrial mold making and casting along with the processes involved in the manufacturing of surfboards and fiberglass fins.

Hill is a 2018 graduate from Chapman University and earned a BFA in Studio Art along with a secondary emphasis in Digital Arts. Garret worked as a Makerspace Coordinator at the Orange Coast College Makerspace from late 2018 to 2020 and is now pursuing freelance projects in CNC machining, CAD design and surfboard manufacturing.
